A federal jury convicted Joseph R. Isaac, a Kansas City, Kansas resident and rap artist known as SleazyWorld Go, of illegally possessing a firearm as a convicted felon, according to a March 16 announcement from the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Kansas.
The conviction follows an investigation that began after law enforcement saw photos on social media showing Isaac holding weapons. Federal law prohibits individuals with felony convictions from possessing firearms.
Court documents and evidence presented at trial showed that Isaac, age 28, was found guilty of one count of felon in possession of a firearm. He had previously been convicted for armed robbery in Kent County, Michigan in 2016. The jury determined that he knowingly possessed a Romarm/Cugir 7.62x39mm pistol.
Isaac is scheduled to be sentenced on June 30, 2026. The sentence will be determined by a federal district court judge who will consider the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives conducted the investigation into the case. Assistant U.S. Attorney David Zabel and Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Taylor Hines are prosecuting.
