Two citizens of Guatemala and one from Honduras were sentenced on Mar. 17 in Toledo, Ohio, for illegally re-entering the United States after being previously deported. The cases are unrelated, and all three individuals had pleaded guilty to Illegal Entry of a Removed Alien under Title 8 U.S. Code 1326.

The sentencing includes Nixion Lopez-Peralta, a 28-year-old Honduran citizen, who received a sentence of time served; Wilson Lux-Solis, also known as Jose Roberto Lemus-Solis, a 25-year-old Guatemalan citizen, who was sentenced to six months in prison; and Manuel Lux-Tum, a 51-year-old Guatemalan citizen, who was also sentenced to time served. After serving their sentences, each will be subject to an immigration detainer and transferred into administrative custody for removal from the United States.

The U.S. Border Patrol-Sandusky Bay Station conducted the investigations leading to these prosecutions. Assistant United States Attorneys Frank Spryszak and Matt Simko handled the cases for the Northern District of Ohio.

These actions are part of Operation Take Back America, which is described as a nationwide initiative by the Department of Justice aimed at addressing illegal immigration and targeting cartels and transnational criminal organizations.
