First Lady Melania Trump announced on March 24 the launch of Fostering the Future Together, a new global coalition aimed at empowering children through technology and education. The inaugural summit brought together representatives from 45 member nations and leading American technology companies at the U.S. Department of State.
The initiative seeks to expand access to educational tools and strengthen protections for children in digital environments, as leaders work collaboratively on practical solutions. The First Lady emphasized that global partnerships are essential to ensure all children have opportunities to learn and thrive in a rapidly changing digital world.
“Our shared vision prioritizes children above political philosophy, geographical borders, and local prejudices,” said First Lady Melania Trump. “Together, we can expand access to education and technology and equip the next generation with the skills they need to succeed.”
During the summit’s working session, participants discussed topics such as educational technology tools, artificial intelligence in education, online safety for children, and digital literacy. The event also highlighted public-private collaboration as an important factor in delivering innovative solutions for educators, families, and students worldwide.
The gathering marked the first large-scale meeting of Fostering the Future Together since its announcement during the United Nations General Assembly in September 2025. The summit will continue at the White House on March 25.
In her remarks welcoming international delegations—including countries from Africa, Europe, Asia, Latin America, and beyond—Trump called upon members to host regional meetings or research studies to further advance partnerships within their regions. She also recognized major tech companies like OpenAI, Palantir Technologies, xAI Corp., Google LLC., Meta Platforms Inc., Adobe Inc., Microsoft Corporation, and Zoom Communications for their participation.
The coalition aims to foster innovation by creating learning programs focused on emerging technologies while advocating supportive policies through strong public-private sector partnerships. As stated by Trump: “Our coalition of leaders will improve our future but only by supporting concrete initiatives that equip young people with skills and knowledge they need.”
Broader implications of this initiative include potential advancements in global education standards as well as increased collaboration between governments and private industry leaders dedicated to preparing youth for success.
