The U.S. Department of Homeland Security announced on Mar. 25 that it is seeking the public's assistance in locating Wilson Adrian Morocho-Necta, who is suspected of a fatal hit-and-run incident in Morristown, New Jersey on March 20.
Authorities say Morocho-Necta, described as an illegal alien from Ecuador, is accused of striking and killing a 68-year-old pedestrian named Justo Pilco-Tenesaca before fleeing the scene on foot while the victim was pinned under a truck.
According to DHS, Morocho-Necta entered the United States illegally in 2019 through the southern border and was subsequently removed to Mexico after receiving a final order of removal from a judge. The department said he later re-entered the country at an unknown location and time.
"We are calling on the public to report any sighting of Wilson Adrian Morocho-Necta. This illegal alien is the lead suspect in a hit and run that killed Justo Pilco-Tenesaca and remains at large," said Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis. "If anyone has information on the whereabouts of this illegal alien, thye should immediately contact ICE at 866-DHS-2-ICE."
DHS emphasized that tips can be reported by contacting its ICE Tip Line at 1-866-347-2423. The department said these efforts aim to assist law enforcement in keeping communities safe.
The case remains open as authorities continue their search for Morocho-Necta.
