Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy Sarah Rogers will visit Tokyo and Seoul from March 27 to April 2. During her trip, Rogers will meet with government officials and private sector leaders to discuss key bilateral and trilateral issues, reaffirm the Trump Administration’s support for freedom of expression and digital freedom, and highlight American achievements during celebrations of America’s 250th anniversary.

In Tokyo, Rogers is scheduled to meet with Japanese government counterparts. She will also participate in an event marking America’s 250th birthday at the Japanese Grand Prix alongside a leading Japanese investor in the United States. Additionally, she plans to hold a dialogue on regional interconnectivity with alumni from the U.S.-Japan-ROK Young Trilateral Leaders Network.

In Seoul, Rogers will lead the second U.S.–Republic of Korea Public Diplomacy Dialogue. She is also expected to convene alumni from U.S. exchange programs and work on advancing partnerships that support workforce development in U.S. shipbuilding.

The visit aims to promote cooperation around digital freedom, strengthen people-to-people connections, and better align public diplomacy efforts with shared economic interests and regional security goals between the United States, Japan, and South Korea.

Rogers’ meetings are part of ongoing efforts by the State Department’s Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs to foster closer ties in the region.
