Special Envoy for South and Central Asia Sergio Gor hosted the inaugural meeting of the U.S.-Uzbekistan Business Investment Council on April 6 in Washington, D.C., joined by Uzbekistan’s Head of the Presidential Administration, Saida Mirziyoyeva.
The launch of this council marks a new step in strengthening economic ties between the United States and Uzbekistan. The initiative aims to promote trade, encourage investment, and foster long-term commercial partnerships between businesses from both countries.
During the meeting, Gor said, “President Trump understands the importance of Central Asia, and especially Uzbekistan, in global commerce and connectivity.” He also noted that the council will help deepen economic engagement and support job creation in both nations while advancing shared goals for regional prosperity and security.
