The U.S. Secret Service announced on April 6 that Kristin Lowman has joined the agency as a Public Affairs Specialist assigned to the Dallas Field Office, effective immediately.
Lowman's appointment is notable due to her extensive background in law enforcement communications and public safety. Her experience is expected to support the agency's efforts in Texas and during National Special Security Events, where clear communication with the public and media is essential.
Lowman previously worked for more than two years as Assistant Director - Public Information Officer for the Dallas Police Department, overseeing its Media Relations Unit and serving as a primary spokesperson during critical incidents. She also held roles with the New York State Police and worked as a television journalist in Utica and Albany, New York. Most recently, she served as PR Manager for Axon Enterprise’s Public Sector division, focusing on strategic communications for U.S. public safety markets.
Special Agent in Charge Christina Foley of the Dallas Field Office said, “Effective communication is essential to the investigative and protective mission of the Secret Service as we work alongside law enforcement partners across North Texas.” Foley added, “Kristin Lowman is a trusted and experienced communications professional with deep roots in this community and a proven track record in law enforcement communications. We are proud to welcome her to our team.”
Lowman said she was honored by her new role: “It’s an honor to join the men and women of the U.S. Secret Service and support the vital work they do every day,” she said. “I look forward to working alongside the team, with our law enforcement partners and members of the media to ensure transparent and timely communication with the communities we serve.”
Lowman holds a Master’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications along with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication from the University of Missouri.
