U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested several individuals convicted of violent crimes, including child cruelty, battery against a spouse, kidnapping, and robbery, according to an April 17 announcement.

The arrests highlight ongoing efforts by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to address public safety concerns related to criminal activity by non-citizens. ICE said these actions are part of broader initiatives aimed at protecting American communities.

Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis said, “Just yesterday, ICE arrested criminal illegal aliens across the country convicted for despicable crimes, including a Fullerton Tokers Town gang member.” Bis also stated that "Every day, DHS law enforcement is risking their lives to protect American communities. Nearly 70% of ICE arrests are of illegal aliens charged or convicted of a crime in the U.S. We will not sit and allow criminals to terrorize American citizens.”

Among those arrested were Dara Nin from Cambodia for child cruelty with possible injury or death in Long Beach, California; Fabricio Ruiz-Higareda from Mexico and identified as a Fullerton Tokers Town gang member for battery against spouse in Fullerton, California; Debaba Raymond Alimasi from the Democratic Republic of the Congo for kidnapping in Ada County, Idaho; Manuel Ordonez-Chitic from Guatemala for robbery involving threats in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania; and Kelbin Edgardo Castillo-Aguilera from Honduras for aggravated robbery in Dallas County, Texas.
