The National Association of Realtors released on April 21 its first quarterly update to the 2026–2028 Strategic Plan, outlining early progress and emphasizing a focus on execution, transparency, and member value.

The update matters because it marks the association’s effort to rebuild trust through visible action and regular communication with its members. In the first quarter, two-thirds of the plan’s projects were initiated, with initial achievements in affordable housing, brand development for Realtors, and strengthening broker relationships. These efforts align with research into member needs.

“This plan was built for action,” said Nykia Wright, CEO of the National Association of Realtors. “Rebuilding trust requires more than words—it requires visible progress. That’s why we’re committed to sharing clear, regular updates that show members how this work is making a real difference.”

Additional initiatives in education, corporate partnerships, MLS relationships and governance demonstrate an ongoing commitment to modernizing the association. Projects are shaped by feedback from Realtor members through committees and focus groups.

“Members are actively shaping this work,” said Kevin Brown, NAR President. “From education to governance to housing supply, REALTORS are directly influencing the decisions and work that matter most to the industry.”

Looking ahead to the second quarter, NAR plans further improvements in educational platforms and advocacy while expanding collaboration with state and local associations as well as MLS partners.

According to the official website, NAR supports diversity and inclusion within real estate; encompasses around 1,200 local boards along with 54 state and territorial associations; works to empower professionals in preserving property rights; delivers resources such as research statistics advocacy education news; functions as a leading trade association for real estate; maintains headquarters in Chicago with an additional office in Washington D.C.
