Kissimmee man sentenced to over 17 years for receiving child sexual abuse material

Christian Eric Harmon, a 38-year-old resident of Kissimmee, was sentenced on Apr. 15 to 17 years and six months in federal prison for receipt of child sexual abuse material. U.S. District Judge Anne-Leigh Gaylord Moe handed down the sentence after Harmon pleaded guilty on August 7, 2025, according to an announcement by U.S. Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe.

The case highlights ongoing efforts by law enforcement to address crimes involving the exploitation of children online.

Court documents show that on April 7, 2024, Harmon engaged in an online chat where he requested and received approximately 22 videos depicting the sexual abuse of children, including infants.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation led the investigation into Harmon's activities. Assistant United States Attorney Kaley Austin-Aronson prosecuted the case.

This prosecution is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched by the Department of Justice in May 2006 aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse through coordinated federal, state, and local efforts.
