Second Philadelphia man pleads guilty in armored truck robbery cases

Dante Shackleford, 26, of Philadelphia, pleaded guilty on Apr. 22 to charges related to multiple robberies and attempted robberies targeting armored trucks in the Philadelphia area. United States Attorney David Metcalf announced that Shackleford entered his plea before United States District Judge Gail A. Weilheimer.

The case concerns a series of incidents involving Brinks trucks between July and October 2025. According to the prosecution, Shackleford was charged with one count of Hobbs Act robbery, three counts of attempted Hobbs Act robbery, and one count of carrying, using, and brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence.

He was charged by superseding indictment alongside Mujahid Davis, also from Philadelphia.

Shackleford is scheduled for sentencing on August 11. He faces a maximum possible sentence of life imprisonment with a mandatory minimum term of seven years behind bars. Additional penalties could include five years’ supervised release and up to $1.5 million in fines.
