U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) posted a series of updates on its official Twitter account between April 19 and April 20, 2026, highlighting recent operations and services related to immigration enforcement and victim support.

On April 19, ICE referenced the work of its Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) special agents in uncovering criminal activity linked to transnational gangs. According to the agency, "Through 'Project Red Hook,' ICE HSI special agents discovered that under the previous administration, aliens affiliated with transnational gangs within the CCP took advantage of our porous" (April 19, 2026).

The following day, ICE promoted resources for victims of crimes associated with immigration issues. The agency stated, "If you or someone you care about has witnessed or been affected by a crime linked to immigration, ICE’s VOICE Office is here to support those victims and their families. 855-48-VOICE (6423)" (April 20, 2026). The Victims Of Immigration Crime Engagement (VOICE) Office was established to offer information and support services for individuals impacted by crimes involving immigrants.

Later on April 20, ICE reported an arrest made during a targeted operation in Massachusetts. The agency announced: "ICE Fugitive Operations arrested Altieris Chaves Paiva during a targeted operation April 5 near Falmouth, Mass., thanks to a tip. Chaves Paiva, a criminal illegal alien from Brazil, is wanted in Brazil for HOMICIDE, but he has a criminal record in Massachusetts, too." (April 20, 2026).

ICE operates as part of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and is responsible for enforcing federal laws governing border control, customs, trade, and immigration.
