Jasper Collinson, a 26-year-old resident of Columbia, Maryland, pleaded guilty on Apr. 23 in U.S. District Court to the distribution of child pornography, according to an announcement by U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro.
The case highlights ongoing efforts by federal authorities to combat the online exploitation and abuse of children. Collinson's plea follows an investigation into his use of messaging applications to share illegal material and communicate with others about child sexual abuse content.
Court documents show that in October 2025, Collinson messaged another user about his interest in child sexual abuse material and distributed nine videos depicting the sexual abuse of children. He also described a private channel where hundreds more such videos were shared among users. The Federal Bureau of Investigation arrested Collinson on Nov. 5, 2025.
A search of Collinson’s phone revealed multiple conversations with other users regarding child sexual abuse material. In one exchange, he discussed previous experiences involving minors and unsuccessful attempts to arrange meetings for illegal purposes.
FBI Assistant Director in Charge Darren B. Cox joined Pirro in announcing the plea agreement. The FBI’s Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force is leading the investigation, while Assistant U.S. Attorney Richard Kelley is prosecuting the case.
This prosecution falls under Project Safe Childhood, a Department of Justice initiative launched in February 2006 aimed at protecting children from online exploitation and marshaling resources across federal, state, and local agencies for enforcement efforts.
