A Mt. Pleasant resident was sentenced on Apr. 24 to 168 months in prison for possessing child pornography, according to United States Attorney Jerome F. Gorgon Jr.

United States District Judge David M. Lawson also ordered Daniel Anthony Quezada, age 56, to serve five years of supervised release following his prison term. Quezada had pleaded guilty on December 3, 2025.

Court records show that on or about September 17, 2025, Quezada knowingly possessed thousands of images and videos depicting child pornography while on the Isabella Reservation. The materials had traveled in interstate commerce. Authorities noted that Quezada has prior convictions from the year 2000 for criminal sexual conduct in the second degree involving a person under thirteen years old, distributing obscene material to children, and accosting children; he was again convicted in 2006 for criminal sexual conduct in the second degree with a victim under thirteen.

"This monster repeatedly sexually abused children. And then he continued to feed on the images of their abuse. A man like this has no place among us," U.S. Attorney Gorgon said.

The Bureau of Indian Affairs investigated the case and Assistant United States Attorney Roy Kranz prosecuted it.
