Tyrone Jammal Wade, age 49, of Lycoming County, was indicted by a federal grand jury on a drug-trafficking charge, the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania announced on Apr. 24.
The case involves an allegation that Wade possessed cocaine with intent to distribute it in Montour County on March 26. The announcement said that indictments are only allegations and all persons charged are presumed innocent unless and until found guilty in court.
United States Attorney Brian D. Miller said the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Lycoming County Narcotics Enforcement Unit, and Pennsylvania State Police investigated the case. Assistant United States Attorney Alisan V. Martin is prosecuting it.
According to Miller, "The maximum penalty under federal law for the most significant offense is twenty years of imprisonment and a fine. A sentence for each of these offenses also includes a period of supervised release following imprisonment. A sentence following the finding of guilt is imposed by the Judge after consideration of the applicable federal sentencing statutes and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines."
