The Department of Commerce announced on Apr. 29 that U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick will give the opening keynote remarks at the 2026 SelectUSA Investment Summit, which is scheduled for May 3-6 at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland.

The event will also feature global business leaders as main stage speakers, including panels titled "Future Ready: Trends Reshaping Business and Society" on Monday, May 4, and "Made in America 2.0: The Manufacturing Renaissance" on Tuesday, May 5. These speakers join a previously announced group of governors who are set to participate in the summit.

Hosted by the Department of Commerce, the summit serves as a central meeting point for companies interested in expanding operations into the United States and provides Economic Development Organizations with opportunities to connect directly with international businesses to facilitate investment deals. Last year’s summit brought together more than 5,500 participants—including representatives from all U.S. states and territories—over 2,700 business investors from more than one hundred countries, and industry experts who shared insights about investing successfully in the United States.

A full list of confirmed speakers will be updated online at www.selectusasummit.us as new participants are announced. Accredited journalists can apply for press passes online; additional media information is available through Mackenzie Martinez via email or by accessing the official press kit.

According to a report on azcentral.com, five Arizona tribes will receive $105.8 million from the Department of Commerce through The Tribal Broadband Connectivity Program under its Internet for All Initiative. This funding supports high-speed internet access for tribal communities and has been allocated to Hopi Telecommunications Inc., Navajo Tribal Utility Authority, Pascua Yaqui Tribe of Arizona, San Carlos Apache Tribal Council/Triplet Mountain Communications Inc., and White Mountain Apache Tribe.

SelectUSA operates within the International Trade Administration at Commerce and works to promote business investment into the United States by coordinating federal agencies as a single contact point for investors while raising awareness about economic development's role in supporting jobs nationwide.
