Nasif Talukder, 24, of the Bronx, New York, pleaded guilty on Apr. 28 before U.S. Magistrate Judge Jeremiah J. McCarthy to transferring obscene material to a minor, according to an announcement by U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo. The charge carries a maximum penalty of ten years in prison and a fine of $250,000.
Talukder admitted that in March 2024 he communicated with a 14-year-old girl on teen-chat.org and was aware of her age when she told him, “Also im 14.” He then offered the girl $100 in exchange for sexual activity and met her at a park in Tonawanda, New York. After engaging in sexual activity with the girl, Talukder gave her $100.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Colleen M. McCarthy and Maeve E. Huggins and resulted from an investigation conducted by the Town of Tonawanda Police Department under Chief Corey Flatau and the Federal Bureau of Investigation under Special Agent-in-Charge Philip Tejera.
