U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced on May 8 the arrest of several individuals convicted of crimes including child sexual abuse, assault on a pregnant woman, and drug trafficking.

The announcement highlights ongoing efforts by ICE to remove individuals with criminal convictions from communities. These actions are part of broader enforcement priorities under President Trump and Secretary Markwayne Mullin.

Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis said, “Yesterday, the NICE men and women of ICE arrested child predators, a violent criminal who assaulted a pregnant woman, and cocaine traffickers. Under President Trump and Secretary Mullin, ICE will continue to arrest and remove violent criminal illegal aliens who should have never been in our country in the first place. If you come to our country illegally and break our laws, we will find you, arrest you, and you will NEVER return.”

The arrests included Miguel Angel Rodriguez-Ramirez from Mexico for continuous sexual abuse with a child under 14 years old in Redwood City, California; Enrique Garcia-Pineda from Mexico for lewd conduct with a minor under 16 years old in Gooding County, Idaho; Miguel Simon-Marcial from Mexico for assault on a pregnant woman in Travis County, Texas; Pedro Fernandez from Cuba for cocaine trafficking in Hialeah, Florida; and Raul Magana-Herrera from Mexico for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine in Tampa, Florida.

ICE encourages Americans to visit their public safety webpage WOW.DHS.Gov for more information about recent arrests involving threats to community safety.
