U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) reported a series of enforcement actions via its official Twitter account between May 7 and May 8, 2026, highlighting recent seizures and arrests at U.S. borders.
On May 7, CBP announced the interception of a significant drug smuggling attempt in California: "San Diego Sector U.S. Border Patrol agents stopped a $1.5 million dollar cocaine smuggling incident! The vigilance of our agents, the capability of our K-9 teams, and our strong partnership with the Drug Enforcement Administration were all instrumental in keeping these drugs" (May 7, 2026).
Later that day, CBP shared details about another major operation at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York: "BIG SEIZURE AT JFK! This wasn’t just a violation…it was a threat to our communities. CBP officers uncovered a falsely declared suppressor, leading to the discovery of firearms, high-capacity magazines, body armor, narcotics, and explosive material. Every seizure is a" (May 7, 2026).
On May 8, CBP posted about law enforcement efforts targeting fugitives at Texas border crossings: "Predators arrested in Texas!
