The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Oregon announced on June 1 a charity drive as part of America’s 250th birthday celebration, resulting in the donation of over 2,000 items to local food pantries in Portland, Eugene, and Medford.
U.S. Attorney Scott E. Bradford said, “I am incredibly proud of our staff for coming together to support families in our local communities through this food drive. Their generosity and commitment to service reflect the very best of public service, and I am grateful for the meaningful impact these donations will have on local food pantries and the individuals and families they serve.”
The Portland office delivered more than 600 pounds of food to Neighborhood House, which has provided free nutritious food to Portland residents for over four decades and serves more than 850 households monthly. The Eugene office contributed nearly 500 pounds—about 395 meals—to Food for Lane County, an organization that works with more than 150 partner agencies throughout Lane County to address food insecurity among children, families, and seniors. The Medford office donated over 300 pounds of food to ACCESS, a community action agency that supplies more than 30 emergency pantries across Jackson County serving low-income individuals.
Scott Bradford has previously served as Chief of the White Collar Unit and Acting Chief of the Counterintelligence and Export Control Section within the U.S. Attorney’s Office, according to the official website. The U.S. Attorney for the District of Oregon maintains offices in Portland, Eugene, and Medford; employs a staff of 107; operates under the Department of Justice as one among ninety-three such offices nationwide; engages in community outreach efforts; represents the United States in civil and criminal matters; and seeks to foster trust in federal judicial proceedings, according to its official website.
