U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) published a series of statements on August 2, 2026, detailing recent actions against individuals described as criminal illegal aliens and child sex predators.
In a post from August 2, ICE reported the detention of an individual from the United Kingdom, stating: “ICE took custody of this U.K. criminal illegal alien — a convicted KIDNAPPER & RAPIST — to protect public safety. He was released on a supervision order under the Biden administration in 2023 — despite his egregious crimes and a 1996 removal order — and ended up racking up a”.
Later that day, ICE identified Ruben Marier as an offender with multiple convictions since entering the U.S. legally in 1999. According to their statement dated August 2, “Ruben Marier is a CHILD SEX PREDATOR from South Sudan who has racked up a laundry list of convictions since his 1999 legal entry into the United States, including: Domestic assault Attempted child sexual assault Child negligence Leaving the scene of an accident DUI He”.
A subsequent post highlighted another case investigated by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), an ICE division. The tweet from August 2 reads, “An ICE HSI-led probe revealed Camilo Campos-Hurtado, a 68-year-old criminal illegal alien from Mexico working as a youth soccer coach in Tennessee, sexually exploited children and recorded the abuse over several years. On July 2, a federal judge sentenced Campos-Hurtado to a”.
These announcements come amid ongoing debate over U.S. immigration policy enforcement practices under different administrations. ICE operates as part of the Department of Homeland Security and is responsible for identifying and removing individuals deemed threats to public safety or who have violated immigration laws.
