News Release: Washington - The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) today announced it has signed a $3,458,752.00 cooperative agreement with Minnesota to increase their purchase of nutritious, local foods for school meal programs. Minnesota is the first state to enter into a cooperative agreement under the program.

News Release: Washington - The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) today announced it has signed a cooperative agreement with Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation under the Local Food Purchase Assistance Cooperative Agreement Program (LFPA). Through LFPA, the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation seeks to purchase and distribute locally grown, produced, and processed food from underserved producers.

News Release: Washington - The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) entered into a stipulation agreement with Marlin Farmwald (Farmwald), of Sullivan, Ill., on June 29, 2022, for alleged violations of the Packers and Stockyards (P&S) Act. Under the terms of the stipulation agreement, Farmwald waived his rights to a hearing and paid a civil penalty of $2,000.

News Release: WASHINGTON, Aug. 25, 2022 Today, USDAs Foreign Agricultural Service launched a new Export Sales Reporting and Maintenance System. This is the system through which U.S. exporters are required, by law, to report any sales transactions entered into with buyers outside the United States for a number of key commodities. The information collected through the system is aggregated and reported to the public each week by FAS.
