Christian Gale Biles, 21, of Vienna, was sentenced on June 4 to five years in prison and three years of supervised release for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
According to court documents and statements made in court, law enforcement officers intercepted a suspicious package shipped from California through the U.S. Mail addressed to Biles’ residence in Vienna, West Virginia. Officers obtained and executed a search warrant for the package and found it contained approximately five pounds of methamphetamine. The package was resealed and about 49 grams of methamphetamine were used in a controlled delivery. On March 4, 2024, Biles took possession of the package at his residence. He was arrested later that day during a traffic stop. Officers then executed a search warrant at his home and found the package containing methamphetamine on the kitchen counter.
As part of his guilty plea, Biles admitted he knew the package contained methamphetamine before receiving it, took possession of it upon delivery, and intended to distribute it to another individual.
Investigators also determined that Biles had previously received another package shipped from California containing approximately four pounds of methamphetamine.
United States Attorney Moore Capito announced the sentence and commended the investigative work conducted by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service and Parkersburg Narcotics Task Force. United States District Judge Irene C. Berger imposed the sentence, and Assistant United States Attorney D. Keith Randolph prosecuted the case.
