News Release: Deer hunting season opened in Kentucky on September 3. Deer hunting season opened in Tennessee on September 24. During these big game seasons, wild hogs may be harvested with the appropriate weapon that is legal for that specific season and during an extended hog hunting season that lasts from the end of the deer season until the end of February with a weapon that is approved by that state for harvesting big game.

Annual Forest Management Operations to Begin at Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park

News Release: Annual forest management operations are scheduled to begin at Marsh-Billings Rockefeller National Historical Park on September 21 and continue through mid-October. During this time, there will be temporary trail closures in and around the work areas between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Posted signs at trailheads will alert visitors to the closures and alternative routes will be marked. Remnants of Hurricane Kay cause road closures in Death Valley

News Release: DEATH VALLEY, Calif. - Storms fueled by the remnants of Hurricane Kay caused localized, heavy damage in Death Valley National Park on Saturday afternoon, September 10. California highway 190 (CA-190) is closed from CA-136 junction to Stovepipe Wells Village. Badwater Road is fully closed. Many other park roads are still closed from floods five weeks ago.

Additional Water Restrictions Implemented at the South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park

News Release: Effective immediately, the South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park will begin phasing into greater water restrictions and conservation measures due to a series of breaks in the Transcanyon Waterline.
