News Release: Following a recent storm pattern with numerous lightning strikes across the park complex, a fire is active in Lake Chelan National Recreation Area. The 0.25 acre McGregor Mountain Fire was detected Wednesday evening and is currently active and smoldering with no significant growth at this time. Park officials have closed the McGregor Mountain Trail and Heaton Camp, as a precaution, due to the fire’s proximity.
