Homans Path Reopens

News Release: In the fall of 2006, there was a series of earthquakes on Mount Desert Island that caused extensive rockslides on the Precipice Trail and East Face Trail on Champlain Mt. and on the Homans Path on Dorr Mt., resulting in the closure of those trails. Park trail crews recently completed removing rock resulting from those slides from the Homans Path and it has been reopened. Damaged stone staircases have been rehabilitated in a manner consistent with extant work on the Path.
