Boat Tours Temporaily Unavailable

News Release: Boat tours to the USS Arizona Memorial were temporarily interrupted today, due to an unsafe dock condition at the visitor center. At approximately 11:00 a.m., one of the gangway planks linking the visitor center to the shoreside dock began to separate from the shore, creating an unsafe boarding situation. The US Navy and the National Park Service responded immediately and are currently working to fix the problem.

Newly Renovated ARS Grain Research Center Dedicated

News Release: MANHATTAN, Kan., Feb. 22, 2008-Research on cereal grains will soon be enhanced, thanks to major renovations nearing completion at a U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA ) research facility here. Originally dedicated in 1970, the Grain Marketing and Production Research Center (GMPRC) is being modernized as part of a 10-year project. The center is operated by the Agricultural Research Service (ARS), USDA's chief intramural scientific research agency.
