Virginia Couple Charged with Tax Crimes

News Release: WASHINGTON – A Newport News, Va., federal grand jury has indicted a married couple for conspiring to defraud the United States, the Justice Department and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) announced today. The grand jury indicted Kathryn Charles Miles and John Scott Miles of Mathews County, Va. In addition, Kathryn Miles is charged with filing false tax returns, and John Miles is charged with failing to file tax returns. The court has not yet set a trial date.
