Hogsett, the United States Attorney, announced today that Danny Lee Beavin, age 39, of Evansville, has been indicted by a federal grand jury sitting in Evansville. Beavin faces six counts of wire fraud and one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, following an investigation by the Evansville Police Department and United States Secret Service.

Hochul announced today that Catherine Vitello, 40, of Elma, N.Y., was arrested and charged by criminal complaint with possession with intent to distribute and distribution of hydrocodone, fentanyl and alprazolam. The charges carry a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a $1,000,000 fine.


Pierce County Deputy Sheriff Arrested On Drug Trafficking Charge

News Release: Brunswick, GA - Pierce County Sheriff's Deputy Randy Strickland, 55, was arrested on federal charges yesterday for his role in the trafficking of methamphetamine. Strickland had his initial appearance today in federal court in Brunswick, Georgia before United States Magistrate Judge James E. Graham, where he was ordered detained without a bond.


News Release: WASHINGTON - Jonathan Womble, 37, a former corrections officer at the District of Columbia Jail, was sentenced on Oct. 9, 2013 to 37 months in prison on a federal charge of conspiracy to commit bribery for accepting $400 in cash in return for smuggling drugs and other contraband into the facility, announced U.S. Attorney Ronald C. Machen Jr. and Valerie Parlave, Assistant Director in Charge of the FBI’s Washington Field Office.


Former Youth Minister Sentenced To 48 Months In Federal Prison On Obscenity Conviction

News Release: LUBBOCK, Texas-Trevor Jacob Fortner, 25, of Lubbock, Texas, was sentenced this morning by U.S. District Judge Sam R. Cummings to 48 months in federal prison, following his guilty plea in July 2013 to one count of attempted transfer of obscene material to a minor. Judge Cummings ordered that Fortner surrender to the Bureau of Prisons on Nov. 22, 2013. Today’s announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Sarah R. Saldaña of the Northern District of Texas.


News Release: Michael A. Guara, 33, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, was sentenced by Federal District Court Judge Alan B. Johnson on Oct. 18, 2013, for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute, and to distributing 50-200 grams of methamphetamine. Guara was arrested in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He received 99 months imprisonment...
