U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement details arrests related to synagogue attack and MS-13 member

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) released information on March 13, 2026, regarding two separate incidents involving non-citizens with criminal backgrounds.

In a post dated March 13, 2026, ICE stated: "The tragic attack on Temple Israel synagogue in West Bloomfield, Michigan, was carried out by Ayman Mohamad Ghazali. He was born in Lebanon on January 4, 1985. He entered the United States on May 10, 2011, at Detroit Metropolitan International Airport on an IR1 immigrant visa".

Later that day, ICE reported another case involving a member of MS-13. The agency wrote: "MS-13 TERRORIST WITH FINAL ORDER OF REMOVAL ARRESTED ICE @HSINewOrleans arrested Edgar Vixney Hernandez-Velasquez, an illegal alien from Honduras and member of MS-13 — a designated terrorist organization, in Metairie, LA, last month. He has a 2019 final order of removal and https://t.co/Cuk3Tal0H3" (March 13, 2026).

A subsequent tweet included only a link: "https://t.co/h4Ue0Rk0t5" (March 13, 2026).

MS-13 is recognized as a transnational criminal organization with members often subject to immigration enforcement actions in the United States. U.S. law provides for the removal of individuals who have been ordered deported due to criminal activity or other violations.
