News Release: FORT WORTH, Texas - At a sentencing hearing held today before U.S. District Judge John McBryde, Michelle Johnson was sentenced to 36 months in federal prison and ordered to pay more than $1.6 million in restitution, following her guilty plea in August 2013 to one count of aiding and assisting in the preparation of false tax returns. Today’s announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Sarah R. Saldaña of the Northern District of Texas.

Omaha Man Sentenced to Seven Years for Distributing Child Pornography

News Release: United States Attorney Deborah R. Gilg announced that Michael Partain, 44, was sentenced in federal court in Omaha for distributing child pornography. The Honorable Lyle E. Strom, Senior District Court Judge, sentenced Partain to seven years in prison. There is no parole in the federal system. After his release from prison Partain will be on supervised release for five years and will be required to register as a sex offender.


North Dakota Man Charged With Sexual Abuse Of A Person Incapable Of Consent

News Release: CHARLESTON, W.Va. - A Charleston man who sold cocaine base, commonly known as crack cocaine, to an informant in January of 2012 on Central Avenue in Charleston was sentenced today to 262 months in federal prison, U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin announced. Marvin Lee Garrett, 33, was convicted at trial in October of 2012 for distributing crack cocaine. Garrett is a career offender, having at least two prior convictions for drug offenses and crimes of violence.
