U.S. Transportation Secretary Foxx Names Sarah Feinberg Acting Administrator of Federal Railroad Administration

News Release: WASHINGTON – U.S. Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx announced today that Department of Transportation Chief of Staff Sarah Feinberg will serve as Acting Administrator of the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA). She succeeds Joseph C. Szabo who was appointed and confirmed as the agency’s twelfth Administrator is 2009. Szabo stepped down as the agency’s head last Friday.

Williston Man Sentenced for Possession of Firearm and Ammunition

News Release: BISMARCK - U. S. Attorney Timothy Q. Purdon announced that on Jan. 12, 2015, Michael John Schell, 44, Williston, N.D., was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Daniel L. Hovland on a charge of possession of firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon. Judge Hovland sentenced Schell to serve seven years in federal prison, to be followed by three years of supervised release. Schell was ordered to pay a $100 special assessment to the Crime Victim’s Fund.

North Tonawanda Man Pleads Guilty To Child Pornography Charges

News Release: BUFFALO, N.Y. - U.S. Attorney William J. Hochul, Jr. announced today that Thomas A. Sparks, 23, of North Tonawanda, N.Y., pleaded guilty to receipt of child pornography, before Chief U.S. District Judge William M. Skretny. The charge carries a mandatory minimum penalty of five years in prison, a maximum of 20 years, and a fine of $250,000.
