Jamaican National Sentenced to 10 Years in Prison for Heroin Distribution Conspiracy

News Release: Greenbelt, Maryland - U.S. District Judge Roger W. Titus sentenced Sophia Jones, age 40, a Jamaican citizen residing in Montgomery Village, Maryland, today to 10 years in prison, followed by five years of supervised release, for conspiracy to distribute heroin and marijuana, possession with intent to distribute heroin, and using a phone in furtherance of drug trafficking. Jones was convicted on Jan. 24, 2014, after a 12-day jury trial.


Sacramento Men Indicted for Trafficking Methamphetamine and Cocaine

News Release: SACRAMENTO, Calif. - A federal grand jury returned an indictment today against Sacramento residents Benjamin Macias, 37, and Sergio Ambriz, 26, charging them with conspiracy to distribute cocaine, distributing cocaine, and distributing methamphetamine, United States Attorney Benjamin B. Wagner announced. Macias is also charged with possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime and being a felon in possession of firearm.
