Former Westbrook Tax Collector Sentenced to Six Months for Embezzlement

News Release: Portland, Maine: Acting United States Attorney Richard W. Murphy announced that Ann Marie Williams, 52, of Falmouth, Maine, was sentenced today in U.S. District Court by Judge D. Brock Hornby, to six months in prison and three years of supervised release for embezzling funds from the City of Westbrook while employed as the City’s Tax Collector. Williams was also ordered to pay $118,000 in restitution. She pleaded guilty on Sept. 19, 2016.

U.S. Magistrate Judge John M. Conroy released Eldridge on conditions pending his next hearing, but ordered that Gauthier be temporarily detained until another hearing on Wednesday.
