News Release: SANTA ANA, California - An Orange County man who was convicted at trial of defrauding a local businessman through a fraudulent investment scheme was sentenced this morning by United States District Judge David O. Carter to 41 months in federal prison.

LSP discovered seven kilos (16.48 pounds) of cocaine in a hidden compartment in the car Easterling was driving.

Martin Fire 95% Contained

News Release: As of 6 a.m. Saturday, July 14 the west portion of the Martin fire transitioned from a type 2 to a type 3 organization. As of today the burned acreage is 435,569 with 95 percent containment. There has been minimal activity beyond isolated smoldering within interior unburned “islands". High temperatures, low humidity and variable breezy winds continue across the area of the fire. Fuels remain at a critical level with low live fuel moisture and high fine fuel loadings.
