BLM concludes Owyhee Emergency Wild Horse Gather

News Release: WINNEMUCCA AND ELKO, Nev. - The Bureau of Land Management’s Winnemucca and Elko District Offices have concluded an emergency wild horse gather within the Owyhee Complex located in Humboldt and Elko Counties, Nevada. The BLM gathered 1,178 wild horses and removed 873 excess wild horses. In addition, the BLM treated 127 mares with the fertility control drug PZP-22 and returned 129 mares and 151 studs back to the range.


Highway 89 Has Reopened Between North and South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park

News Release: Grand Canyon, AZ - The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) has reopened US 89 between Cameron and US 160 on the Navajo Nation. Traffic has been restored in both directions following damage caused by heavy rains.

It was believed he was attempting Longs Peak on Thursday, October 4. Albert’s rental car was found at the Longs Peak trailhead Friday afternoon. It is unknown what Albert’s planned destination or route was.


Cave Tours Available, Chateau Closed
