Davis has sentenced Jimmie Dwight Whitfield (43, Atlantic Beach) to 37 months in federal prison for failing to register as a sex offender after absconding from supervision in Georgia and establishing residence in Florida. Whitfield was also sentenced to a 5-year term of supervised release and required to register as a sex offender. He has been in custody since his arrest on Oct. 25, 2018.
