Operation X-Nation Update: Two Pennsylvania Men Enter Guilty Pleas to Federal Drug Crimes

News Release: BLUEFIELD, W.Va. - Two Pennsylvania men pled guilty today for their participation in a drug trafficking operation in Mercer County, announced United States Attorney Mike Stuart. Sezar Hamilton, 39, pled guilty to conspiracy to distribute hydromorphone and Alonzo Wooden, 44, pled guilty to conspiracy to distribute cocaine and oxymorphone. Both men were charged as a result of a long-term, multi-state investigation known as Operation X-Nation.


Repeat Domestic Violence Offender Sentenced To 30 Years In Federal Prison For Assault Against Wife On Ute Mountain Ute Reservation

Dunn today announced that David Sidney Wells, age 44, of Towaoc, Colorado, was sentenced to serve 360 months (30 years) in federal prison, followed by 10 years on supervised release, for committing a violent sexual and physical assault against his wife on the Ute Mountain Ute Indian Reservation. The FBI and Bureau of Indian Affairs joined in today’s announcement.


Webster Man Pleads Guilty To Child Pornography Charge

News Release: BUFFALO, NY-U.S. Attorney James P. Kennedy Jr. announced today that Glenn K. Smith, 52, of Webster, NY, pleaded guilty before Chief U.S. District Judge Frank P. Geraci, Jr. to possession of child pornography involving a prepubescent minor. The charge carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison, and a fine of $250,000.


News Release: HARRISBURG, PA -The United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania announced that Savage Family Pharmacy, located in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, has agreed to pay the United States $180,480 in civil penalties for allegedly failing to comply with recordkeeping and other requirements of the Controlled Substances Act. These alleged violations enabled the diversion of opioids from the pharmacy over an extended period of time.


News Release: WINNEMUCCA, Nev. - The Winnemucca BLM District Division of Fire Management is constructing fuel breaks along roads in the Owyhee Desert. The goal is to decrease hazardous fuel loading adjacent to roads on roughly 4,900 acres. The fuel breaks will be in the William Stock allotment roughly 10 miles NE of Paradise along approximately 60 miles of roads. The project will be conducted over a three-year period from September through February yearly.

Former Police Chief Sentenced for Making a False Statement

News Release: United States Attorney Joe Kelly announced that Jeffrey Treu, former police chief of Wisner, Nebraska, was sentenced today by Senior United States District Judge Laurie Smith Camp to 12 months of probation for making a false statement to a special agent from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). He will also be required to pay a $1,000 fine and a $100 special assessment.
