U.S. District Judge Virginia M. Covington Hernandez today sentenced Christopher Deon Townsel (47, Sarasota) to 15 years in federal prison for unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Andrew Buchanan, 35 years old, of Chicago, Illinois, was sentenced by United States District Court Judge Philip P. Simon, after pleading guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm, announced United States Attorney Clifford D. Johnson


U.S. Attorney Mark Totten announced today that U.S. District Court Judge Jane M. Beckering sentenced Deshay Malory, age 30, of Kalamazoo, to 120 months in federal prison for possessing a loaded, stolen firearm as a convicted felon in connection with cocaine dealing, one week after he fired at a car with two children inside, and all while he was on parole from an earlier drug conviction.


James Leroy Smith Jr., 38, of Pensacola, Florida, was sentenced to 134 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of an unregistered short-barreled rifle, and multiple violations of his federal supervised release conditions.


A St. Louis market’s security guard appeared in federal court Tuesday to answer charges accusing him of illegally possessing firearms, including during a shootout in St. Louis in October.

A Chicago man has been sentenced to nearly eight years in federal prison for using a machine gun to rob a law enforcement officer during an undercover firearms transaction.


Timothy M. O’Shea, United States Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin, announced that Kishaun Brooks, 21, Madison, Wisconsin, was sentenced today by Chief U.S. District Judge James D. Peterson to four years in federal prison for possessing a handgun as a felon. This prison term will be followed by three years of supervised release.

Cherry also has been ordered to forfeit the firearm. A jury found Cherry guilty on June 16, 2022.


An Essex County, New Jersey, man was sentenced today to 93 months in prison on weapons and drug charges, U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger announced.
