South Texas man pleads guilty to trafficking more than $1.1M in cocaine following HSI Corpus Christi investigation

A South Texas resident pleaded guilty Jan. 10 to drug trafficking-related charges after an investigation conducted by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Corpus Christi and U.S. Customs and Border Protection revealed he attempted to smuggle more than $1.1 million in cocaine through a U.S. Border Patrol checkpoint.

Joint HSI, DOD investigation lands Virginia attorney in federal prison for tax fraud

An investigation conducted by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Norfolk and the Department of Defense Office of Inspector General, Defense Criminal Investigative Service (DCIS) landed a Virginia attorney in federal prison for more than four years for tax fraud. Nosuk Kim, 61, of Newport News, was sentenced to 52 months in prison Jan. 5 and ordered to pay a $200,000 fine for evading the assessment of her 2015- and 2016-income tax returns.

A Texas man was sentenced to prison for receipt and distribution of child pornography following an investigation conducted by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI).


Montgomery Man Sentenced to 184 Months Following Carjacking and Firearm Convictions

News Release: Montgomery, Alabama - Today, Steven Michael Wehr, 33, from Montgomery, Alabama, was sentenced to 184 months in federal prison for carjacking and using a firearm during a federal crime of violence, announced United States Attorney Sandra J. Stewart. In addition to imposing a sentence of more than 15 years, the judge ordered Wehr to serve five years on supervised release. There is no parole in the federal system.
