Department of the Interior publishes 17 notices in week ending July 11

There were 17 notices published by the Department of the Interior in week ending July 11, according to the Federal Register.

The most recent notice, Agency Information Collection Activities; National Park Service President's Park National Christmas Tree Music Program Application, was submitted on July 9, 2021.

The Department of the Interior published 28 the week before, marking a 39.3 percent decrease.

The Department oversees more than 500 million acres of land.

Downsizing the Federal Government, a project aimed at lowering taxes and boosting federal efficiency, said the department’s actions have contributed to a growing water crisis and holds many lands which could be better managed.

Notices are required documents detailing rules and regulations being proposed by each federal department. This allows the public to see what issues legislators and federal departments are focusing on.

Any person or organization can comment on the proposed rules. Departments and agencies must then address “significant issues raised in comments and discuss any changes made,” the Federal Register says.
