Statement from Secretary LaHood on the Announcement of New CEO of California High-Speed Rail Authority
“I want to congratulate Jeff Morales on his appointment as CEO of the California High-Speed Rail Authority. Jeff has firsthand knowledge of the transportation challenges California faces, and his many years of experience with both national and local transportation issues will be a vital asset as this project moves forward. This announcement builds on the momentum we’ve already seen since Governor Brown and CHSRA Board Chairman Dan Richard announced a revised business plan that will deliver the benefits of high-speed rail more quickly and affordably. As soon as the California legislature votes to move the project forward, thousands of Californians can go to work building the high-speed rail network that will keep their economy growing for years to come.”
