U.S. Department of Labor to Provide Educational Forums in Missouri to Discuss Wage Laws, and Payroll Audit Independent Determination Program

ST. LOUIS, MO ­- The U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division (WHD) will present educational forums about developments in its policies and regulations, and its Payroll Audit Independent Determination Program (PAID), in Jefferson City and in St. Louis, Missouri, on Dec. 11, 2018, and Dec. 20, 2018, respectively.

PAID facilitates resolution of potential overtime and minimum wage violations under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). The program's primary objectives are to resolve such claims quickly and without litigation, to improve employers’ compliance with overtime and minimum wage obligations, and to ensure that more employees receive the back wages they are owed – faster.

WHAT: Wage and Hour Division Educational Forum Payroll Audit Independent Determination Program (PAID) Educational Forum WHEN: Dec. 11, 2018 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. CST WHERE: Association of Industries in Missouri (AIM) 5601 West Loop South Jefferson City, MO 65109 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WHAT: Wage and Hour Division Educational Forum Payroll Audit Independent Determination Program (PAID) Educational Forum WHEN: Dec. 20, 2018 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. CST WHERE: St. Louis Chamber of Commerce One Metropolitan Square, Suite 1300 St. Louis, MO 63102 The forums will include representatives of the Division’s Washington, D.C., and regional offices as well as representatives from the Missouri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations.
