WASHINGTON, DC – The U.S. Department of Labor today announced additional funding of $438,844 to the Massachusetts Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development for the National Dislocated Worker Grant currently serving individuals impacted by the closure of Garber Brothers Inc., located in Stoughton, along with Serta Mattress, located in Middleboro. Funds will allow the Commonwealth to continue reemployment services to currently enrolled participants and serve new participants coming forward for services.
Supported by the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act of 2014, National Dislocated Worker Grants temporarily expand the service capacity of dislocated worker programs at the state and local levels by providing funding assistance in response to large, unexpected economic events that cause significant job losses.
