Commerce Department Unveils New Web Site

New Site Provides User-Friendly Interface and Quicker Access to News and Information WASHINGTON—Today U.S. Commerce Secretary Carlos M. Gutierrez announced the launch of an overhaul of the home page of the Department's Web site, www.commerce.gov. The newly revamped home page is designed to be more accessible, appealing, and easier to navigate and manage.

"Our Web site is an important portal to the vast services the Commerce Department provides to the American public," said Gutierrez. "From up-to-the-minute time, weather and population information to the latest economic indicators, commerce.gov provides vital information in a timely manner to a wide variety of constituencies. Today's new home page marks the beginning of an effort to modernize the Web site." Today marks a partial launch of the new site, with a redesigned home page that features Top News stories and navigation which allows the user to access existing content. Over the coming months more content will be migrated to the new site which features:
