FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 13, 2002 WWW.USDOJ.GOV AT (202) 514-2007 TDD (202) 514-1888 WASHINGTON, D.C.- Following the announcement by the Federal Communications Commission that it would approve Comcast Corporation's proposed acquisition of AT&T Broadband, Inc. as restructured to place certain Time Warner Entertainment assets in a trust, the Department of Justice announced today that it will not challenge the transaction. After a thorough investigation and analysis that included a large number of interviews of industry participants and a review of documents from various firms in the business, the Department's Antitrust Division has closed its investigation into the merger. 02-671
