FBI Denver 2022 Citizens Academy nominations now open

Nominations for the Citizens Academy are now open, according to a press release. The FBI Denver Division will be accepting nominations for the 2022 Citizens Academy through Nov. 30.

“The FBI’s Citizen Academy provides an incredible opportunity for members of the community to better understand the work of the FBI and partner with us in keeping Colorado and Wyoming citizens safe. We are grateful for the work of the Citizens Academy and encourage participants to share the information learned through this experience with family, friends and neighbors.”

The Citizens Academy gives religious, business, civic and community leaders an inside look into the FBI in aim of raising awareness around the FBI and federal law enforcement. The program has been an effective outreach tool for the FBI in the past.

Classes for the academy will be held one night per week for eight weeks at the FBI Denver office and attendees must be at least 21 years of age and live or work within the FBI Denver's jurisdiction.

According to the release, "A panel of FBI employees will review nominations. Selected nominees will be invited to apply. Applicants who pass a background check will be admitted to the 2022 session."

Those that wish to submit a nomination for themselves or others can do so on the program's website
