The U.S. Department of Labor is relaunching askEARN.org, a website aimed at making workplaces more inclusive for those with disabilities, according to a release by the DOL on Nov. 9.
Employer Assistance and Resource Network on Disability Inclusion (EARN) highlights recruitment, hiring, retention and advancement. The site also includes information on how employers can involve people with disabilities for optimal diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace, the release said.
“Need help meeting your workplace diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility goals? Get guidance on recruiting, hiring, retaining and advancing workers with disabilities,” the U.S. Department of Labor tweeted.
The website will offer training courses, checklists, policy guides, videos and webinars. It will also touch on various topics such as workplace mental health, the benefits of neurodiversity in a workplace, federal contractor requirements and employment issues due to COVID-19.
With support from Cornell University, EARN “offers resources to help employers of all sizes and industries recruit, hire, retain and advance people with disabilities and develop disability-inclusive workplace cultures,” the DOL press release states.
EARN is a free resource funded by the DOL Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP). Marking their 20th anniversary this year, ODEP aims to improve the success of disability hires through the use of technical assistance centers and policy development, the press release said.
