Statement by Press Secretary Clark Stevens on Secretary Napolitano's Upcoming Visit to Tokyo

For Immediate Release Office of the Press Secretary Contact: 202-282-8010 "Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano will travel to Tokyo on March 11-14, at the invitation of the Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, to meet with counterparts from the Asia/Pacific region and officials from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) to discuss ways to bolster global aviation security. This will be the third in a series of major international meetings hosted by ICAO member states in which the Secretary will participate to build consensus on strengthening global aviation security, and to identify specific steps which nations can take individually and collectively to protect all passengers. More details on the trip will be released once they are finalized."
