For Immediate Release DHS Press Office Contact: 202-282-8010 Yesterday, the Association of Government Accountants announced that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) was awarded its second Certificate in Excellence in Accountability Reporting Award and the Best-in-Class Summary of Performance for providing clear insight into the Department’s spending and program performance. I want to congratulate the employees across the Department and specifically the Office of the Chief Financial Officer, who have worked so hard to prepare our annual agency financial report.
These awards further show that our “Unity of Effort” initiative is working. By bringing to the Department a more centralized and integrated process for making decisions, working across all lines of business with our components and leveraging department-wide business processes, we can continue to emphasize that clarity and transparency are amongst our highest priorities.
